Research work by the faculty, postgraduate residents (dissertation and thesis) is on regular basis. Research articles are published in national and international journal.

Training :

The Department takes pride in providing excellent postgraduate training to the students of M.S., FCPS General Surgery & Allied and FCPS of other disciplines rotated in the department. At present 24 FCPS SURGERY postgraduates are under training. Since 1990 the department has produced 150 FCPS & MS in General Surgery and more than 20 MRCS UK, who continue to offer their sound services both overseas and to homeland itself. In addition, we also train subspecialists for the first 18 months before they pursue CARDIAC SURGERY, NEURO SURGERY, THORACIC SURGERY, PLASTIC SURGERY, ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY and other specialties.

The Department is Centre for FCPS-II Examination. Over 60 dissertations on different topics of Surgery are written in the Department.
