Department of Radiology (Research & Academics)

The department of Diagnostic Imaging is very keen and encouraging in promoting the research. All the trainees are encouraged to actively participate in the audits and research projects. It is however mandatory to strictly follow the research protocol as per CPSP / university policy. Some of the research articles are as follows:

  • Diagnostic accuracy of contrast enhanced computed tomography in diagnosing renal cell carcinoma taking histopathology as gold standard.
  • Role of delayed phase tumor contrast washout in patients of hepatocellular carcinoma on computed tomography.
  • A comprehensive evaluation of radiographic errors in DR among adult population in a public sector hospital.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound in small bowel obstruction keeping surgical findings as gold standard.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of multislice CT in esophageal varices taking endoscopic findings as gold standard.
  • Accuracy of Contrast Enhanced CT Imaging in the diagnosis of Lymphoma keeping histopathological findings as gold standard.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of MRI vs USG in detection of endometrial cancer keeping histopathology as gold standard.
  • MRI lumbosacral spine in young patient with low backache, a clinico-radiological correlation.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of MRI in the central nervous systems infections keeping lumbar puncture findings as gold standard.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound to detect adenomyosis.
  • Diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound to detect hemoperitoneum and common types of trauma leading to it.

Multi Disciplinary Meeting:

The academic schedule is very well organized. The trainees are expected to strictly follow a weekly schedule which is as follows;

List of Training / Workshops Offered:

The workshops are organized in the department annually. The radiology residents and consultants from outside facilities are also allowed to get enrolled in these workshops. Over a hundred radiology residents and consultants participated in the workshops in 2018 which included:

  • GPS Guided Ultrasound Biopsy.
  • Shearwaveelastography.
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound.
  • Breast clinic.
