Department Has The Honour To Be The Forerunner In Starting Head And Neck Surgeries In This Region. This Is One Of The Few Centers Where Laryngeal Reconstructive Surgery Is Done. Special Attention Is Being Given To Voice Rehabilitation Following Laryngeal Surgeries.
Cryosurgery Facility Is Available In The ENT OPD, Which In Govt. Sector Is Only Done Here.
Department Has Speech And Language Therapy Facility For Patients With Speech Problems And Also Provides Oesophageal Voice Therapy To Laryngectomized Patients.
More Than 20 Original Research Papers Published In National And International Journals Are Credited To Prof. Anjum Khawar And A Lot Of Studies Have Been Presented By Her In National And International Conferences.
Department Has A Honour To Be The First One To Start Publishing Handbook For Postgraduate Trainees In PIMS.This Handbook Was The Brain Child Of Our Respected Head Of Department Prof. Anjum Khawar Who Put Her Vehement And Sincere Efforts In Getting It Published.
Thirty Five Doctors Trained At The Department Have Obtained Their Fellowship From The College Of Physicians And Surgeons And Three Have Obtained There MS ENT Degrees From QPGMC.

Future Plans
The Department Plans To Procure Equipment For Setting Up The Facility For Cochlear Implants. There Is Need Of Auditory Brainstem Response Equipment In The Department As There Is No Facility Available For Screening Of Hearing Disability In Children.
The Department Would Also Like To Come Up With A Fund For Provision Of Prosthesis For Post Maxillectomy And Post Mandibulectomy Patients. As There Are A Large Number Of Patients Undergoing Laryngectomies It Would Be Useful To Have Blom Singer Prosthesis Available For Speech Rehabilitation Of These Patients.
Prof. Anjum Khawar Is Keen To Conduct Head And Neck Surgery Workshops In Near Future While as Dr. Altaf Hussain Will Be Conducting Temporal Bone Dissections Workshops In The Coming Months.
The Department Is Also Planning To Send Its PG Trainees For Training Abroad So That They Can Improve Their Skills And Gain Maximum Exposure At The International Level. There Is Also Plan Of Establishing Liaison With ENT Departments Of International Hospitals Of Repute In Broader Interests Of Our Patients.
